Blurring The Boundaries With Your BlackBerry

September 26th, 2008

It’s hard to imagine life before the BlackBerry. Though it was introduced just nine years ago, 13 million people now use this device to stay connected in the Information Age. The fact is, many people are too connected, literally keeping their BlackBerrys with them 24/7.

For many of my coaching clients, over-dependence on technology is an ongoing topic in our coaching sessions. Here are a few of the comments they’ve made:

Do you have a coach?

April 18th, 2008

Have you noticed?

The blog is lighting up like Times Square on New Year’s Eve! Plus, my inbox is overflowing. People are even calling our office in unprecedented numbers.

The new Work Less, Make More Program is the reason.

I’ve honestly never seen anything like this. It seems like hundreds of people have questions—important questions about the program—far more than with any other product or program we’ve created.

I found the video…

April 16th, 2008

Before her life was tragically cut short in 2001, Jennifer White revealed some of the most potent success principles known to man in various events around the country. Many of these presentations were recorded on video, with the hope that they could be used later to impact the lives of even more people. Unfortunately, those recordings disappeared.

A little more than a month ago, I was searching through some boxes that I had received from Jennifer’s husband Steve. Imagine my surprise when I saw a single, plain DVD in a clear yellow CD jewel case. In blue Sharpie pen were the words “Jen – Luncheon Speech.”

The response to the American Dream Manifesto has been incredible. The emails flooding my inbox have been truly heartwarming…and some of you have even posted comments on the blog.

Every single message I receive means a lot to me. Hopefully you realize by now how passionate I am about helping people get out of the “rat race”, so they can live the life they are meant to be living.

With all the buzz and excitement growing from the release of my American Dream Manifesto, I thought I’d do something even more exciting…

Work Life Balance in Europe

August 30th, 2007

I’m just back from being gone for four weeks. We attend a family Bible camp every year in northwestern Iowa, and this was the seventh time in eight years that we made the 13-hour journey to Okoboji. Then, I was in Denver for five days—a combination of business and pleasure.

I no sooner got back from Denver, and we were off to Europe, for a 14-day family vacation in Germany, Austria and France. What a great trip, and a wonderful experience—especially for our children! It truly opened their eyes to another part of the world, which was a big reason I wanted to go.

Five Ways to Leave Work Early This Week

July 9th, 2007

It’s hard to Work Less, Make More when you feel chained to your office. It’s also hard when you aren’t prioritizing and really getting to the important jobs. You end up wasting valuable time on the tasks that matter least instead of those that matter most. By delegating and prioritizing effectively, you can become a little less indispensable and begin your Work Less, Make More strategy one step at a time—and that means, one step out the office door at a time. Leave your laptop, forget the briefcase, and go home!

Lunch with Warren Buffett

July 3rd, 2007

Last week, Warren Buffett held his annual charity auction on eBay. Two investors topped the other pre-qualified bidders with a winning bid of $650,100. The winners and five of their guests will join Mr. Buffett for lunch at the Smith & Wollensky steakhouse in New York City. The auction benefits the Glide Foundation, which provides social services to the poor and homeless in San Francisco.

How cool would that be? To be able to ask Warren Buffett your burning questions about investing, or philanthropy, or life?
